Project Description

PDC's Partners

Owner: YWCA of Greater Portland
Developer: Sockeye Development, LLC

PDC's Involvement

Provided gap financing—As part of the overall Museum Place redevelopment effort, PDC entered into a Grant Agreement in May 2002 in the amount of $3,235,000 with the YWCA of Greater Portland in order to facilitate rehabilitation of their existing facility located at SW Main and 10th Avenue.

Phase I of the project included health and fitness, community, senior and counseling centers, as well as a 36-unit transitional housing program (restricted to individuals at or below 30 percent of median family income, MFI).

In January 2006, the YWCA submitted a Phase II proposal to add eight additional transitional housing units (bringing the total to 44 units) and to expand the Counseling Center's square footage to 2,800 square feet from its existing 1,200 square feet. Both of these activities further the mission of the YWCA and are defined as approved uses in the existing Grant Agreement.
