PDC establishes citizen advisory committees to involve citizens and project partners in urban renewal planning, program development and decision making. PDC committees primarily serve as an advisory group to the PDC Board of Commissioners, Executive Director and/or staff, who consider a committee’s recommendation when making a final decision.

Committees may focus on specific geographic areas and programs, or evaluate development proposals for individual projects. PDC convenes various committees each month, each requiring a different time commitments, expertise, interest and experience. Depending on the project and the charge, some committees only need to meet two or three times over several months, while others require a three year commitment, as is the case with an urban renewal advisory committee.

If you are interested in working with PDC on urban renewal projects and programs, please take a moment to complete the PDC Advisory Committee Application.

We will keep your application on file and use it to match your skills, interests, affiliations and time availability with PDC projects and committees. Thank you for your interest in serving.

If you have any questions, contact Joleen Jensen-Classen at 503-823-3352 or by email.
