The Destination Retail Panel's task was to review an Industry Report prepared by the consultant assisting with the Economic Development Strategy. This review will include an assessment of:

the industry description;
-
the issues, challenges and opportunities facing the industry;

and recommended strategies to address those challenges and opportunities.
The panel was asked to review their Draft Industry Report to:

Determine if there are gaps and/or missing elements in any of the areas listed above;

Provide input on priorities and tradeoffs among the strategies recommended, recommend additional or alternative strategies, and identify the constraints to successful implementation;
-
Evaluate the cost of various strategies and suggest appropriate roles or collaborations among organizations.

Sale of products directly to the end user/consumer—with
a focus on those retail activities that have a market draw
beyond the local neighborhood/community.
