PDC Honors Urban Renewal Advisory Committee Members
The Portland Development Commission (PDC) will hold a reception to honor members of its urban renewal advisory committees on Tuesday, May 20 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the PDC Commission Room located at 222 NW 5th Avenue. The PDC Board established urban renewal advisory committees (URACs) as a mechanism for community members to provide feedback to the PDC Board and staff regarding PDC projects that take place in urban renewal areas.
“We want to take the time to thank these community members for all of their time and effort on behalf of PDC”, said Bruce Warner, Executive Director for PDC. “Members of these committees represent some of our most dedicated and hardworking stakeholders and they play a critical role in the development and on-going completion of urban renewal plans. Their help and guidance is crucial to our success.”
“One of our primary goals here at PDC is to ensure we have open, two-way communication with the community and develop collaborative working relationships. The members of these various urban renewal advisory committees help improve neighborhood livability and ensure that we all work to develop stronger communities” said Mark Rosenbaum, Chair of the PDC Commission.
Urban Renewal Advisory Committees exist in the Lents Town Center, Gateway Regional Center, North Macadam, Oregon Convention Center, Central Eastside and the Interstate Corridor Urban Renewal Areas. More than 100 community members volunteer their time on these Urban Renewal Advisory Committees.
