PDC Commissioners Re-Elected
The Portland Development Commission (PDC) Board of Commissioners held their annual board member elections, as required by the commission bylaws, Wednesday, July 11. The election was held during the regularly scheduled commission meeting. By unanimous vote Mark Rosenbaum was re-elected Chair of the commission, Sal Kadri was re-elected Secretary and Bertha Ferrán was re-elected Acting Secretary.
“I’m very pleased with the results of the PDC board election,” said Mayor Tom Potter. “Chairman Rosenbaum and the board have demonstrated excellent leadership in guiding the very important work performed by PDC staff. I look forward to working with them over the next year and expect continued success.”
In accepting his re-election, Chairman Rosenbaum noted some of the many accomplishments of the PDC over the past year. Those accomplishments include:
- Instituting joint budget review process with city council for increased coordination
- Establishing prevailing wage policy for family wage jobs and minority contracting
- Updating housing loan and grant processes for first time in 10 years
- Televising commission meetings to increase public participation and reinforce PDC’s open and transparent process
“This board will continue to be a strong voice in support of PDC’s mission of providing quality housing, employment opportunities and economic prosperity in the greater Portland area,” said Chairman Rosenbaum. “We, both as a board and individually, are passionate about these issues and we are very proud to work with the outstanding staff at PDC.”
