PORTLAND REGIONAL PARTNERS APPOINT FORMER PACIFICORP VP AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Pam Treece brings more than 20 years in private sector to leadership of public/private partnership
Portland Regional Partners for Business (The Association of Regional Economic Partners), an organization focused on economic development in the Portland metropolitan area, has appointed Pamela H. Treece executive director of the organization. Treece was most recently managing director and vice president of Oregon external affairs for PacifiCorp, where she spent more than twenty years honing skills in marketing, issues communication, training and community relations.
“Pam brings broad experience, enormous business credibility and leadership skills to this position,” said Tim McCabe, economic development policy advisor to Governor Kulongoski. “I worked with Pam for many years at PacifiCorp and the Regional Partners are fortunate to have a leader of her caliber ready to take the organization to the next level of influence and effectiveness.”
“I’m looking forward to strengthening the Regional Partners’ role in advancing the economic development agenda of our region,” said Treece. “We will continue to work hand-in-hand with the efforts underway—and those yet to be established—to elevate the regional economy,”
Treece has served on numerous local, regional and national boards including American Leadership Forum (past president and member of the national board), Rose Festival, Oregon Sports Authority, YWCA, Oregon Governor’s Council for Health, Fitness and Sports, and E-3, Employers for Educational Excellence. She is currently a director on the boards of the Commerce Bank of Oregon, Innovation Partnership and Planned Parenthood of Columbia Willamette. She is a lifetime resident of the region and holds a bachelors degree from Portland State University and a masters degree from Lewis & Clark College.
Portland Regional Partners for Business (The Association of Regional Economic Partners) focuses on shared economic priorities and works to implement business retention, expansion and recruitment as well as marketing strategies and recommendations for policy development. The members are public and private sector economic development professionals in the region who have worked collaboratively for more than 10 years to retain and recruit businesses, and promote the metropolitan region as a vital economic center. Current board chair is Janet Young, economic development director for the City of Gresham; vice chair is Charlie Allcock, economic development director of Portland General Electric.###
