Ceremony Planned To Switch On New Lights At Lents Park

WHAT:
Lents neighbors, City staff, volunteers and members of the Lents Town Center Urban Renewal Advisory Committee (Lents URAC) will gather tomorrow night to celebrate the completion of new lights in Lents Park

WHEN/WHERE:
Tuesday, March 9, 2004
6:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Lents Park
S.E. 92nd and Holgate
Meet at the park’s gazebo

WHO:
Speakers at the event are:

• Scott Montgomery, Vice Chair, Parks Board
• Judy Welch, Chair of the Lents Neighborhood Assoc.
• Matt Hennesee, Chairman, PDC

WHY:
Urban Renewal funds from the Lents Town Center Urban Renewal Area have paid for $300,000 in outdoor lighting improvements to Lents Park. New lights were identified as a priority by citizens serving on the Lents Town Center URAC. The new lights allow for a much more even distribution of light in the park making it safer and more inviting.

Following brief remarks, the speakers will help throw a giant switch that will turn on the new lights.
