Homebuyer Education

It is highly recommended that you take a homebuyer education class. Many lenders require you to take a class and received a certificate of completion, in order to qualify for first-time homebuyer loans and special homebuyer assistance programs.

The Portland Housing Center is a local, non-profit provider of homebuyer education. Check out their webpage at www.portlandhousingcenter.org.

Start with this Home Shopping Checklist (Word or PDF file) which will assist you in your proces to find a new home. This checklist can help you identify exactly what is important to you in finding a home that will meet your needs.
