The North/Northeast Study, which will take place during the 2008-09 fiscal year, will include an analysis of past and planned investment plans, possible boundary adjustments and priorities for investments in the Oregon Convention Center and Interstate Corridor Urban Renewal Areas. The North/Northeast Study will be conducted in partnership with the community to ensure the investments made by the Portland Development Commission (PDC) enhance livability and economic opportunity with the two urban renewal areas and the city at-large.

Two amendments to the River District Urban Renewal Area have been appealed to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA). Items related to the appeals are posted below

First Amendment to the Amended and Restated River District Urban Renewal Plan

The amendment to create a satellite district in the David Douglas School District was appealed on October 27, 2008. PDC submitted their response on November 17, 2008. LUBA will hold a hearing on December 4, 2008 and we expect a decision in early January, 2009.

 

Amended and Restated River District Urban Renewal Plan

On June 25th, the Portland City Council approved the amendments to the four Urban Renewal Areas in the Westside and Lents Town Center Studies with a 4-0 vote. Close-out strategies were set for our two older downtown districts (Downtown Waterfront and South Park Blocks), and new goals were approved for River District and Lents Town Center URAs.
