As part of the update to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, PDC is analyzing the potential for a new district downtown. Mayor Adams has convened a 25-member Evaluation Committee to make recommendations to PDC about whether or not to create a new district, and if so, where. The Committee has held thirteen meetings to date and we expect they will make their recommendations in Summer/Fall 2010. The Committee recently discussed a draft investment strategy and reviewed a proposed urban renewal area boundary. After months of discussion and public meetings, the N/NE Community Advisory Committee voted on May 19, 2010 to approve 8 separate recommendations regarding policy issues and boundary adjustments for the Interstate Corridor and Oregon Convention Center URAs. The CAC Report will be presented to the PDC Board of Commissioners on July 26, 2010.
