Business/property owners located in designated areas of the South Park Blocks URA may be eligible to receive a storefront matching grant of up to $20,000 to assist with rehabilitation projects.
The 50/50 matching grant is paid upon completion of pre-approved applicant-paid work.
Some of the eligible items for improvement include gutters and downspouts, canopies and awnings, painting and masonry cleaning, windows and doors, exterior lighting, signs and graphics.
The Program also provides up to 30 hours of free architectural assistance to help design a new storefront or assist in recommending new lighting or paint colors.
In addition, PDC has designed a Signage and Lighting Improvement Program to provide a supplemental financial Storefront grant match for property and business owners to invest in new or upgraded signage, window lighting, and awnings. The purpose of emphasizing these specific categories is to help downtown businesses and retailers enhance their facade and pedestrian environments. Property and business owners must be approved for a Storefront Program grant to be eligible for this program. In addition, properties must be located in one of the targeted areas identified within three downtown Urban Renewal Areas: Downtown Waterfront, South Park Blocks, and River District.
