Energy Industries encompass power generation, distribution, and monitoring, including Smart Energy, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy technologies.

The Portland region is a West Coast leader for professional expertise, strong utility presence and corporate headquarters in Energy Industries. Numerous high tech companies, skilled labor, and university–based education and research programs also contribute to the strengths of the Portland metro area.

• Christenson Velagio — Headquarters for an energy and business management company providing energy conservation, alternate sourcing, optimization and sustainability services.
• FirstPoint Energy — Provides products and services that transform energy, water and natural gas consumption data into cost and resource savings. Products include customized energy management software, an automated meter reading system, data recorders and other related products. FirstPoint's corporate office is located in the Portland metropolitan area.
• PPM Energy — Headquarters location for a generation development and energy asset management firm for wind, natural gas and other projects in the West and midwestern United States.
• Serveron Corporation — Provider of technology and services that monitor electric utility asset performance. The Portland regional office is the international headquarters for the firm.
• Siemens Building Technologies — Provider of building automation, energy management, HVAC, fire, safety and security services.
• Vestas American Wind Systems — North American headquarters for international leader in the wind industry.
• Zilka Renewable Energy — Northwest office of wind power project development firm.
