Mark Rosenbaum has been active in the financial planning business since his college career at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. In 1982, he joined his father, Fred M. Rosenbaum, in forming Rosenbaum and Rosenbaum, a financial planning partnership. Mark has been the Managing Partner since the firm’s inception. In 2003, the business name was changed to Rosenbaum Financial, LLC which better reflects the comprehensive practice which had developed.
Because effective financial planning requires expertise from several professional disciplines, Rosenbaum Financial offers its business and individual clients an integrated approach. Its staff includes experts in group and individual insurance, securities, employee benefits and retirement plans, as well as planners specializing in retirement, business and estate planning. These talented individuals work with the client’s other professional advisors to create a comprehensive overall plan.
Rosenbaum Financial currently manages over $20 million in annual insurance premiums per year. Its Investment Division oversees over $165 million in assets under management – both in employer-sponsored plans and individual investment accounts. Mr. Rosenbaum’s commitment to contribute to his community is evidenced by his long, active membership in various service organizations and by the many leadership roles in which he has served. Mark joined the National Conference of Christians and Jews in 1978, and he served as Board Chairman of the Oregon Region from 1983 to 1986. He joined the Jewish Family and Child Services, Inc. organization in 1982 and was President of its Board of Directors from 1989 to 1992.
Mark was Vice Chair of the State of Oregon Public Welfare Review Commission from 1988 to 1991. From 1993 to 2001, he was a member of the Multnomah County Commission on Children and Families and Chair from 1995 to 1999. Mark served on the Community Impact Cabinet of United Way of the Columbia Willamette for three years beginning in 2001.
In 1998, reflecting his strong focus on services to disadvantaged youth, he and two other community and business leaders co-founded Oregon Mentors, which is dedicated to connecting caring, competent mentors with young people in need of guidance. He was Co-Chair of the organization’s Executive Committee until his appointment to the PDC Board precluded contributing the requisite time. In addition to being Chair of PDC, Mark is currently a Board Member of the Tuality Community Hospital and he served as Chair of the Tom Potter for Mayor campaign Executive Committee.
Mark is a member of the Top of the Table of the Million Dollar Round Table, a premier association of the world’s best life insurance and financial services professionals dedicated to promoting healthy financial best practices through consumer education. He is the recipient of the MDRT Foundation Quality of Life Award, given for exemplary community service.
Mark lives in Portland with his wife, Debi. He has two adult children, David and Sara.
His term as a PDC Commissioner began June 1, 2005, and he was the second appointment to PDC’s board by Mayor Tom Potter.
